The author writes thus:
The Devin water I use in my cocktail comes from Bulgaria, in the Rhodope Mountains. It is from this same mountain range that my inspiration for making my cocktail comes. The Rhodope Mountains are known for their unique forests, karst areas and deep caves. One of these caves is Devil’s Throat Cave, which also has an interesting myth that characterizes my cocktail.
The myth tells the story of the famous singer and lyre player Orpheus, whose music had an irresistibly sweet sound, and in order to obtain everything the soul desires, he descended into the Underworld to bring back his beloved Eurydice.
My cocktail embodies a journey into the underworld, with a smoky aroma and sweet notes that won’t go unnoticed.
Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, was so enchanted by the sweet melody that he had no choice but to free Erydice’s soul from the captivity of the Underworld.
My cocktail is made special by the sweetness of ripe berries, the smokiness of oak, accompanied by soft acidity and delicate tannins. Sounds like wine 🙂 but alcohol-free!
