DEVIN spring water

Devin spring water has a unique story, which is especially fascinating because its purity is confirmed by the most impartial evaluators – bees.

Since 2019, bees living in the DEVIN protected areas have helped monitor the purity of the spring water. Beehives have been placed near the spring, and pollen analyses from them confirm the complete absence of pesticides and heavy metals. Bee pollen samples are sent to the laboratory of the Belgian organization “BeeOdiversity” for analysis of several indicators.

The water comes from the ecologically clean Baldaran spring in the Rhodope Mountain region, in the town of Devin.

Alkaline spring water is suitable for daily consumption by the whole family, including infants and young children.

What do the results show?

BeeOdiversity publishes an annual report on the analyses carried out each year. All studies to date have shown a complete absence of pesticides and heavy metals in bee pollen, confirming the purity of the DEVIN source and the surrounding area.

2022. Monitoring data from four periods in 2018 show that during the spring-summer season, when bees are most active, more than 85.7% to 95% of the collected pollen comes from wild plant species, including St. John’s wort, oak and yarrow. One European protected plant species, the perennial herb Bistorta officinalis (Persicaria bistorta), is also found there.

Bees and biodiversity

Bees act as both an early warning system and as assistants in implementing possible measures to prevent contamination of the area. Based on the results of the analyses, our specialists make decisions on how to protect and preserve the diversity of plant species around the source.

The role of bees in nature has a beneficial impact, and preserving their ecosystem is important for a sustainable future for all of us. Together with bees, we have created a sustainable project that has a beneficial impact on the natural environment and ensures an important resource for us all – clean spring water.

DEVIN’s Source: pure, life-giving hydration

DEVIN spring water comes from a spring in the Western Rhodopes, at an altitude of 1338 meters above sea level, where flora and fauna are harmoniously intertwined. The water is bottled directly from the source, without human intervention.

The uniquely pure water is natural, has a balanced alkaline pH of 7.4-7.7 with a pleasantly mild taste. Unlike tap or table water, the taste of this spring water remains unchanged.
